Re: The Never Ending Story
"You shorted out the TARDIS' infinity sensors" he muttered, bewildered.
River looked closely at the screen.
"No." She corrected, moving the scan onto Mitchell.
Species: Vampire
Age: 118
Infinity Emanation: 7
"See?" Said River. "She didn't short out, it just can't read from her."
"I'm sorry, but am I supposed to know what an Infinity sensor is?" Asked Erin, thoroughly confused.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"No, of course not. You're only a human." He paused, "sort of."
"So...what does it mean?" pressed Vlad.
"Well, the Infinity sensor senses....Infinity?" The Doctor seems unsure.
"He didn't read the manual," stage-whispered River over his shoulder.

Re: The Never Ending Story
The Doctor was tempted to stick out his tongue childishly as River continued.
"The Infinity Sensor reads Infinity Emanations, technically the ability to influence the environment. A power rating, if you like. Most humans are a 5. Mitchell is a 7. It can't measure Erin."

Re: The Never Ending Story
"Why?"
"Well I think she's off-the-scale. Or fluctuating. I'm not sure, it's never happened before." River shrugged, unsure of what else to say.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"What does that mean?" asked Vlad, casting a concerned glance to Erin.
"It means that she's no ordinary vampire."
Vlad cast a glance to the book he still held clasped under his arm, before looking away quickly.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"I'm missing something here, aren't I?" asked River, noticing their glances.
"Big scary book" the Doctor nodded. "With a big scary prophecy. About Erin."
"We don't know that for certain!" Vlad protested.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"What's it say?" River asked the Doctor.
"Oh, just that Erin and Vlad will rule the vampires when she becomes evil. So, not too bad."
River nodded slowly.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"She's not going to become evil!" Vlad hissed. "And that's not what it said!"
"Yeah, it was more like 'embrace darkness'" Erin added.
"I see" muttered River.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"Anyway, aren't we s'posed to be looking for Ingrid?" asked Christa.
"No, we're supposed to be dealing with her," announced the Doctor. "Big difference: dealing doesn't involve as much finding as, well, finding."

Re: The Never Ending Story
"Even then, we still need to find her." Christa pointed out. She turned to Vlad. "Any ideas?"
Vlad gritted his teeth.
"Will you people just stop trying to make me help kill my sister!" he snarled. Christa took a step back as his eyes glowed red.

Re: The Never Ending Story
Adam moved protectively between Christa and Vlad, holding his hands up to calm the Chosen One.
Re: The Never Ending Story
"Woah!" he said loudly. Vlad balled his fists and walked a few paces away.
"She's my sister." he said, more calmly now. "Do you have any idea what it's like to have to kill somebody you love?"
River looked away guiltily, but no one noticed. They were too busy staring at Vlad. Finally, George spoke up.
"You have to." he said slowly. "You know better than anyone that the real her, her human side - your real sister, would hate what she's turning into. She'd want you to stop it."
"And could you do that?" Vlad snapped, rounding on him. "If you were in my place?"
George looked at him gravely.
"Yes."

Re: The Never Ending Story
Vlad stared at George for a second, before turning away and kicking the ground. He couldn't kill his sister. But he had to. Unless...
Allowing his eyes to turn black, he pounced.

Re: The Never Ending Story
His victim's eyes widened in shock as he barreled towards them, and they collided with enough force to knock both of them to the ground.
Re: The Never Ending Story
Vlad whispered into her ear, "I need you to knock me out."
Christa was confused, but played along.

Re: The Never Ending Story
She threw him off of her, and his head cracked against the console. He was out like a light.
He awoke in an oddly lit forest, with irregular patches of shadow and shade.
The Dream World.

Re: The Never Ending Story
Standing, he surveyed the strange world, wandering through the forest. Finding a clearing, he slumped to the ground and rubbed his head. Now he must play the waiting game.
Re: The Never Ending Story
Back at the TARDIS, everyone was extremely confused, and Adam had shot over to help Christa to her feet.
Re: The Never Ending Story
"You OK?"
"Yeah, fine." mumbled Christa, turning to see Vlad's limp body.
Erin screamed.
"It's OK," assured the Doctor with a buzz of his sonic "he's still alive."

Re: The Never Ending Story
Unconvinced, she moved over to him, checking his head. He seemed to be okay, if a bit bruised. She shot a glare at Christa, who returned it with just as much force.
Re: The Never Ending Story
Ingrid smiled, her brother may have the upper-hand, but even he couldn't get into the slayer's guild this easily. Crouching behind a table, she listened as the Van Helsings discussed their next raid.
Re: The Never Ending Story
"We need to get hold of some more garlic gas" Jonno was saying. "We used it all in the last raid."
"Argentalium casing?" Mina asked.
"Yeah."
"What about the location?"
"I've had people watching them for months. They'll be there."

"Yeah."

Re: The Never Ending Story
"Good, because after last time OfSlay are on our back. We can't afford another mistake." Jonno nodded reassuringly and Mina took out a map.
"How are we getting in then?"
"One entrance, this door," she pointed to a mark on the map, "but they'll be on us as soon as we get there, so be prepared."

Re: The Never Ending Story
"I don't think we'll ever be completely prepared to take out the High Council." Jonno sighed.
Re: The Never Ending Story
Ingrid couldn't quite believe what she was hearing. The High Council? Really!? She watched for about an hour as the slayers finalised their plans, taking in every word, noting every weapon.
Re: The Never Ending Story
That was when she realised she had a choice. She could either warn the Council of the attack, and get on their good side, or sit back and let them get wiped out, leaving the path clear for her own reign. Of course, without the Council to control him, Vlad could stand to gain even more power...
Re: The Never Ending Story
She waited until the Van Helsings had left and surveyed their plans more fully: they were bringing out the big guns - literally.
Re: The Never Ending Story
There were UV blasters as big as she was, and she had to skirt gingerly around what looked like a genetically modified garlic clove, the size of her head.
The Master stepped forwards, cracking his knuckles and preparing to destroy the weapons.
"No!" she shouted at him. "Wait!"

Re: The Never Ending Story
There, scribbled next to the map was a list. The door opened and Jonno rushed in. Hiding again behind the table, Ingrid formulated a plan.
Re: The Never Ending Story
The list contained the names and addresses of all of the Council members... including Vlad. A smirk appeared on her face as she realised what the Slayers were planning to do. Kill the Grand High Vampire, let their world fall into chaos, then pick off the stragglers one by one. Of course, alone, the slayers would not stand a chance against her little brother. Neither would she, if she was honest with herself. But working together, they had a chance, and with the anarchy Vlad's death would bring, it would be easy for her to betray the Slayers and rise to power.
She gestured for the Master to stay hidden, just in case, and rose from her hiding spot.
"Hello Jonno" she drawled.

Re: The Never Ending Story
He spun, grabbing a stake, and backed away from the voice. "Ingrid? Wha- Why are you- How did you get in?"
"You really need less obliging guards; they let me straight in." She stalked towards him slowly, smiling evilly.

Re: The Never Ending Story
He raised the stake, eyes hardening.
"I'm not afraid to use it" he snapped, though his voice shook somewhat.
"Put it away" she sighed, clicking her fingers and causing the stake to burst into flames. He dropped it with a cry of pain. "If I wanted you dead, you would be. I've been here hours."

Re: The Never Ending Story
"Now, are you going to let me help you," Ingrid stepped forward, squaring up to the slayer, "or do I need to do this the hard way?"
Jonno gulped, "No," he squeaked, "easy way. Definitely the easy way."

Re: The Never Ending Story
"Good" she smirked. "Now, you want to kill my brother-"
Jonno opened his mout to protest at this, but she silenced him with a glance.
"Please, I want him dead just as much as you do. Like I want to be ruled by my baby brother."
"So you want to kill him?" Jonno sounded shocked.
"Hello?" she gestured to her leather getup and her cape. "Vampire? Evil?" She rolled her eyes.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"OK, say I trust you, what do you get out of it?" Jonno asked warily.
"You need my help, and I need Vlad dead, so just do as I say."
"Hang on," Jonno left the room and returned with his mother, "now, where were we."

Re: The Never Ending Story
Mina gasped and grabbed a stake at the sight of Ingrid. The latter just rolled her eyes again, repeating the process she had used with Jonno. Another burned stake fell to the floor.
"Anyone would think I was unwelcome" she said sweetly.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"What are you doing here?" the slayer cried, holding up a garlic grenade threateningly.
Ingrid didn't react to the weapon, smiling patronisingly. "Like I told Jonno, I need Vlad dead."

Re: The Never Ending Story
Mina lowered the grenade slowly.
"And you want us to help you?" she spat.
"I know you're going after him anyway" she said calmly. "And if you try, he'll kill you all instantly."
Of course, she knew that was untrue. Vlad would never hurt a fly, much less kill a breather. But the slayers didn't need to know that.
"So what do you suggest?" Mina said, eyes narrowed.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"You need him to give up. Simple. Take his eyes off the ball for a second," she slammed her fist on the table, "and stake him."
"How are we supposed to do that? You said it yourself, he'd kill us on sight."
"How are we supposed to do that? You said it yourself, he'd kill us on sight."
Re: The Never Ending Story
Jonno nodded, "She's on our side, I'll -"
"No," Ingrid interrupted, "She's on my side, even if she doesn't know it yet."
"No," Ingrid interrupted, "She's on my side, even if she doesn't know it yet."
Re: The Never Ending Story
"What's that supposed to mean?" Mina asked, slowly reaching for another stake. Ingrid set it alight again.
"It means she's one of us. And soon she won't have a choice but to follow me."
Jonno snarled.
"You turned her!" he shouted, fury all over his features.
"Hey, I just wanted to kill her. It was Vlad that turned her."

Jonno snarled.

Re: The Never Ending Story
Jonno lunged forward, releasing a garlic grenade straight at Ingrid. The vampire tried to dodge, but for once a slayer was faster than her.
Falling to the floor, she realised she wasn't hurt. Looking up, she saw the Master writhing in pain.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"Ingrid!" cried the Master, clutching at a sizzling patch of skin on his chest. Ingrid glanced at him, then turned back to the slayers, unconcerned.
"Well done. You just incapacitated my plan B." she drawled in a bored tone.
Mina shot Jonno a look, but he was still fuming. Ingrid cocked her head to the side, intrigued by his reaction.
"You liked her." she realised, a sadistic grin splitting her face. She began to laugh.

"Even if I didn't," he cried, "she was a human being !"
"And now," Ingrid smiled, "she's better."

Re: The Never Ending Story
"SHE'S A MONSTER!" he screamed.
"That's a word humans use to describe something better than they are." she shot back.
"A KILLER?!" he snapped.
"Yes" she sneered.

Re: The Never Ending Story
"Now," Ingrid started, changing the subject, "when are we attacking the high council?"
Mina scoffed, "There is no 'we'."
Mina scoffed, "There is no 'we'."
Re: The Never Ending Story
She shrugged and turned away.
"Then you'll die."
She had almost reached the door before Mina called her back.
"Wait!"
She paused.
"What do we do to Erin?"
She turned back to them.
"You're slayers. She's a vampire. Do you want me to spell it out? Kill her, and Vlad will be too distraught to fight back."

Re: The Never Ending Story
"Fine, now we just need to get her to the High Council."
"Leave that to me," smirked Ingrid, before flitting away.
